Yan Yan Gurt West Farm - Fitting agroforestry into a working farm
Yan Yan Gurt West is a regenerative sheep and agroforestry farm nestled in the beautiful foothills of the Otway Ranges.
Our family has been caretaking this property for 5 generations. There has been a strong ethos of stewardship for both the natural landscape, its flora and fauna, and the requirements of a successful farming business.
Having incorporated over 40,000 trees and shrubs into the farming landscape we are creating a robust ecosystem fostering biodiversity along with sheep and forestry production that will be resilient in the face of climate change.
Recently we have established a food & flower forest of native flowers and bush foods. We also have an earthen cob cottage built on the property, a creative example of combined methods in natural, sustainable building techniques using timber, clay, ochre, wool and stone sourced from the property.

- Operational Historic woolshed - built in 1888
- Working dog demonstration
